Welcome!
Meet some of my family! Pictured here, from left to right, are my mother-in-law "Ellen", my youngest son "John", my oldest son "Joshua", and my beautiful wife "Jane".
Me? Well, you see, somebody had to take the picture. Naturally, I was elected, so I get to be the "behind the scenes guy ".
That is what this website is all about. You see, I have lot's of talents, and lots of abilities, many of which are only visible "behind the scenes".
I can manage and juggle a lot of things. By putting together a website like this, then folks who are interested in finding out more about me will have a place that they can refer to.
No, I'm not self-absorbed! But when you apply for a position, or you are serving folks in some capacity, people like to know "who" is this guy is that we are about to pay lots of money to. They want to know my personal values like character, integrity, and honor, and they want to know that I'm a family man ... that I'm going to be sticking around for a while.
This site will be the best place for them to come to find out more ... about "me".
I tried to categorize most of these areas, so that you can easily find information pertinent to your particular area of interest. Of course, your feedback is always appreciated!
Welcome once again ... to my personal website!
Career Plans
For the past few years I have been working as a consultant, as a project manager, as an IT manager, a network admin, and many of the other facets of the IT world. I have worked for various fortune 500 companies, and for many of the major corporations in this area. My goal was to gain a vast amount of experience in the IT arena of business so that I would be able to handle just about any task thrown my way. Now, after years of working at everything from a PC Support Tech to a Manager, from a Help Desk Agent, to a wiring and cabling installer, to a telephone guy, a server admin, and even a network architect, I've reached a point where it is now time to put all of that experience to good use.
A few years ago, Steve Smith, a Sr. Director at Dell Computer Corporation at the time, said that I proved the well known phrase "Jack-of-all-trades" wrong! You've all heard it, "a Jack-of-all-trades is a master of none". He said that I was living proof that the statement itself was incorrect! For years I've wondered where I would be able to utilize all of these multiple talents, and now I am finding that these skills work wonderfully in the area of management. With experience in everything from public speaking to presentation, from sales to management, from the bottom-end of the IT field to the top, I am finally headed in an area where all of these can come together in an orchestra of abilities that will serve me well!
Thought For The Day!
Take time with your people. Invest into them. Contrary to popular belief, they are "not" replaceable! You have invested a lot of time, training, and money into the folks that work for you. And like tuning an engine that is running badly, people sometimes just need some adjustments ... a little understanding, and maybe a little help, to get back on-track. What you'll have is not only someone who will do the job and do it well, but someone who is loyal, and committed ... to "you". Why?
Because you took the time to believe ... in them.
