SALVATION
You know there's nothing like knowing that your life and your mistakes are 'square' with God - you're "ok".  The bible calls this being "righteous", or in "right standing" with God.  This doesn't mean you're perfect - it just means that as far as God is concerned, you are free of sin!  Your sin is taken care of - paid for! 

This only happens when 2 conditions are met.

1. You have to "confess your sin" ...
2. And you must be "born again "
   

1.  You have to "confess your sin" ... 
The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." and in Romans 3:10 it says, "There is none righteous, no not one." But thank God it also says in 1 John 1:9, that "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."  John 14:6 says that, "no one comes to the Father, except through Jesus." Because Jesus gave His life on the cross, He died in your place and mine. There is no other way to God. And when we sin, in exchange for giving our life to Him, we get "His" righteousness! We are forgiven, and made clean before God. When we confess our sins to God, He then takes our sin and puts it under the blood of Jesus so that our sins no longer exist ... they are "washed away"! God can then look at us as He would His Son, clean and righteous!  

2.  And you must be "born again" ... 
The Bible says in John 3:3, "... unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." so we know that we have to be "born again". But how do we do this? John 3:16 says, "For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." So we have to make what we call a firm and quality decision. We decide that we "believe" in Jesus, and that we want to give our life over to Him to be 'born again". Once we pray this prayer, a miracle takes place! Something inside of you changes. You become someone "new"! The Bible says that we "become a new creature", a new creation in Christ Jesus!



What if I'm not sure ... 
Unlike many that you may have dealt with in life, God is not someone out to "trick" you into something. He is honest, above board, and He'll give it to you straight! I like to tell people who say they aren't sure, "Go ahead. Give Jesus a try. Hey, if you don't like it, the devil will always take you back!"

That's it in a nutshell! When you ask Jesus to come into your heart, and to be the Lord of your life, you have to "trust" that He will be fair and honest with you - and He will! All He asks is that you "believe" ... in Him!

The bottom line is this - you have to ask Jesus to come into your heart; to forgive you of your sin; and you have to receive HIS free gift!  It's a win-win situation!!
