The WORD CHURCH is a fellowship of WORD-BASED, Bible teaching, fellowship, and worship designed to take both the new believer and those who've been saved awhile, and thrust them into "LIFE" Himself!
We are committed to introducing you to Jesus, and all that He stands for! We're not filtered by any denomination doctrines - if it's in the Word, if it's "gospel", if it's GOD, then we're preaching it, teaching it, and working real real hard to be "living" it!
We work on the "spring swimming hole" principle here. You have probably heard Brother Kenneth Copeland talk about this, or Brother Len Minks, at one of the Believer's Conventions. It's a "country boy" thing! In the Spring, when it starts to warm up, boys want to go swimming! The pools are not open yet, but our favorite swimming holes "are"! There's always those times when you go that the water is maybe, well, less than what you'd expect in temperature? (you get my point) The guys who use their "toes" to "test the waters" will, at the end of the day, still be there "testing" ... possibly up to their knees, but they'll never know, they'll never enjoy the fullness of the swimming hole! But the guy who just takes a running start and "dives in", with careless abandon for what temperature may await him, always swims for the day! There may be a "shock", but this lasts only for the moment. The swim? It lasts for the whole day long!
What's my point here? The water is the LIFE of GOD. God has a plan for your life. He has a purpose, and He has a way that "He" wants you to go. Often times as Believer's, we are constantly "testing" the water. It's like we're afraid of a drastic and sudden change! But then there are those who want ALL THAT GOD HAS TO OFFER! They set aside any fears, and with reckless abandon, they just "DIVE IN" to what God has to offer! There's a sudden "shock" as they adjust to the change, and then they are fully enjoying all that God has to offer, while the rest sit quietly on the sideliness, wanting what he is experiencing.
Why do I differentiate between "Believer's" and "Christians"? Because a "Believer" is someone who "believes" God, and His Word. But a "Christian" is one who "acts" on God's Word! The church of Antioch first began calling the Believer's "Christians" because they were "acting like little Jesus's"! Folks, "testing the waters" is NOT the way Jesus did it! When at Lazarus' tomb, He didn't "test the waters" ... He walked right up to the tomb and COMMANDED them, "ROLL-AWAY-THE-STONE!" They complained! He BOLDLY proceeded further! "LAZARUS! - LAZARUS! COME FORTH!" ... and he did! Now let me ask you this? Which do you want to be? What kind of results do you want in your life? All "Christians" are "Believer's", but not all "Believer's" are "Christians". They are "saved", but they're NOT at all living a life like Jesus did. They're too worried about offending someone. They're too busy walking on egg shells. Folks, Jesus PROMISED US that folks would be "offended" ... BECAUSE OF HIM, and because of our belief in Him! We need to deal with that, and BOLDLY step forward. Folks are going to hell while we "test the waters", folks!
So, now you understand the "spring swimming hole" principle. Which do you want? And what do you want to be like? Well let me add this one thought to spark your thinking ... When was the last time you noticed "turkeys" hanging around with "eagles"? They don't. The Bible teaches that you take on the characteristics of those you spend time with ... bad company corrupts good morals. And bad "faith partners" corrupt otherwise "good faith folks". So, if you want to be like "eagles" then you've got to go to "... where the Eagles gather".
